Privacy Policy

Close The Loop ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application available on iOS and Android (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account data: When you create an account, we store your email address and chosen display name via Firebase Authentication.
• App usage data: Task names, subtask details, time estimates, and completion status. If you are signed in, this data is stored in Firebase Firestore associated with your account. If you use the app without signing in, data is stored locally on your device only.
• Profile photo: If you upload an avatar, it is stored in Firebase Storage and associated with your account.
• Purchase data: Subscription and purchase information is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and managed via RevenueCat. We receive anonymised purchase status to unlock premium features.
• Analytics: We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (e.g. feature usage frequency) to improve the App. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Crash reports: In the event of an app crash, anonymised diagnostic data may be collected to help us identify and fix issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Sync your data across multiple devices when you are signed in
• Process subscription payments and verify premium access
• Send optional push notifications about your tasks (only with your permission)
• Detect and fix crashes and technical issues
• Understand how users interact with the App in aggregate

3. Data Storage

When you use the App without signing in, all task data is stored exclusively on your device. When you create an account and sign in, your task data and profile are synced to Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage, both operated by Google. This enables multi-device sync and data backup.

Firebase data is stored in Google Cloud infrastructure. See Firebase Privacy for details. If you delete your account, all associated cloud data is permanently deleted within 7 days of your request.

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, and Storage for cloud sync. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscription purchases. RevenueCat may collect anonymised purchase and device identifiers. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play: Payment processing and app distribution. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
• Expo: Used for app delivery and over-the-air updates. See Expo's Privacy Policy.

5. Push Notifications

The App may request permission to send push notifications to remind you about tasks. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device Settings. We do not share your push notification token with third parties.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

7. Data Retention

If you use the App without an account, data is retained on your device until you delete the App. If you have an account, your data is retained until you delete your account. You may request account and data deletion at any time by emailing contact@craftschoolship.com. Anonymised analytics data may be retained for up to 24 months.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access or delete your personal data
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Opt out of analytics collection
• Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via device Settings

9. Security

We use Firebase's built-in security rules and Google Cloud infrastructure to protect your data. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice within the App.
