Getting Started

What is Close The Loop?
Close The Loop is a task manager that visualises each goal as an animated circle. The ring fills as you complete the subtasks inside it, and snaps shut the moment you're done — giving you a satisfying, visual way to track real progress.
How do I create my first loop?
Tap the + button on the home screen. Give your loop a name, pick a colour, then add subtasks to break it down. Each subtask can have an optional time estimate and notes. Hit Save and your loop appears on the home screen, ready to fill.
What's the difference between Open and Backlog?
  • Open: Loops you're actively working on right now.
  • Backlog: Loops you want to keep track of but aren't ready to start yet.
Move a loop between stages with a long-press or from the loop detail screen. Backlog loops don't count toward your capacity load.
How do I sync across multiple devices?
Create an account (or sign in) from the Profile screen. Once you're signed in, all your loops and profile settings sync automatically to the cloud in real time. Sign in with the same account on any device and your data appears instantly.

Subscription & Billing

How does the free trial work?
You get 90 days of full access for free — no credit card required and no feature restrictions. After 90 days, a subscription of $1.99/month keeps everything unlocked. You can subscribe directly from the Subscription screen inside the app.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android):
  • iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Close The Loop
  • Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Close The Loop
You can cancel at any time and you'll retain access until the end of the current billing period.
I subscribed but premium isn't unlocking — what do I do?
Try pulling down to refresh on the Subscription screen. If the issue persists, try signing out and signing back in. If it still doesn't resolve, email us at contact@craftschoolship.com with your App Store or Google Play receipt and we'll sort it out manually.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google depending on where you purchased. You can request a refund directly:

Features & Usage

How does capacity tracking work?
In your Profile, set your weekly hour budget — the total hours you can realistically give to open loops each week. Each subtask can have an estimated time. Close The Loop totals the remaining time across all open loops and shows you a capacity bar on the home screen so you can see at a glance if you're over- or under-committed.
Can I add notes to a subtask?
Yes. Tap the notes icon on any subtask row to expand an inline editor. You can write as much or as little as you like. The first line of the note appears as a preview on the subtask row so you can see context at a glance.
How do I set up daily reminders?
Go to Profile → Notifications. Enable notifications and pick the hour you'd like to be reminded each day. The first time you enable notifications, the app will ask for permission — make sure to allow it. You can also manage this later in your device's Settings app.
How do I delete a loop?
Open the loop detail screen and scroll to the bottom. You'll find a Delete Loop option there. Deleted loops are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
What does closing a loop do?
Closing a loop marks it and all its subtasks as complete and moves it to your Closed archive. It no longer counts toward your capacity. You can reopen a closed loop at any time from the Closed tab.

Account & Data

What happens to my data if I don't create an account?
Your loops are saved locally on your device and work completely offline. If you uninstall the app, that data is lost. Creating a free account backs everything up to the cloud automatically.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email us at contact@craftschoolship.com with the subject line "Delete my account" from the email address you used to sign up. We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 7 days and confirm when it's done.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your loops and profile are stored in your private Firebase account and are not visible to other users or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
